Nike Air Max 95 GORE-TEX Is Ready for Wet Weather in 2026

Nike is giving the Air Max 95 a weather-ready makeover with the upcoming Air Max 95 Big Bubble GORE-TEX, introducing waterproof protection to the iconic silhouette for the first time.

The new sneaker is part of Nike’s Holiday 2026 lineup and combines the familiar Air Max 95 design with a waterproof GORE-TEX finish designed to help keep feet dry in rain, sleet and snow. Nike has already listed the shoe on its website in Japan as a “Men’s Winterized Shoes” release.

A New Take on the Air Max 95

The first revealed colourway comes dressed in Light Bone, Black, Metallic Pewter and Campfire Orange.

The shoe keeps the layered construction that has defined the Air Max 95 since its introduction, while adding weather-focused materials. Nike says the upper combines synthetic leather and mesh, with the GORE-TEX finish providing waterproof protection.

The sneaker also features the Big Bubble tooling, with visible Max Air cushioning underfoot. Flex grooves are built into the midsole and outsole, while the design continues to reference the human anatomy that inspired the original Air Max 95.

The Light Bone colourway is finished with darker sections across the shoe and Campfire Orange accents, giving the otherwise neutral sneaker a small pop of colour. GORE-TEX branding is also visible near the forefoot.

Waterproof GORE-TEX Construction

The biggest change is the addition of GORE-TEX.

According to Nike, the waterproof finish is designed to help keep the wearer’s feet dry in wet conditions while maintaining the Air Max 95's signature layered appearance.

This makes the upcoming version different from a standard Air Max 95, which is primarily designed around its classic mesh and synthetic construction rather than dedicated waterproof protection.

More Colourways Are Expected

The Light Bone version isn't expected to be the only Air Max 95 GORE-TEX release.

Current reports have identified additional Holiday 2026 colourways, including a Black/Black/Diffused Blue/Black version and a Camo Green/Black/Metallic Dark Grey/Neutral Olive version.

However, release dates for these additional colourways have not been confirmed.

What to Know

The Air Max 95 GORE-TEX brings a practical update to one of Nike's most recognisable silhouettes. Rather than changing the shoe's familiar shape, Nike is keeping the Big Bubble design while adding waterproof protection for wetter conditions.

With more colourways expected for Holiday 2026, the GORE-TEX Air Max 95 could become one of Nike's key weather-ready releases for the season.
